Tomorrow opens the biggest Dive show worldwide its doors !

The 41st  Boot Show will take place from January 23 to 31 daily from 10 am to 6 pm in Düsseldorf (Germany) : 9 full days of the latest infos on a variety of water sports. The range is wide : sailing, paddling, motorboats, fishing, windsurfing, surfing, kitesurfing, waterskiing, wakeboarding and of course DIVING !

The diving hall all by itself is huge! You can have a dip into one of the pools, check out for the latest news from the your favourite brands or watch the underwater pictures of great photographers.

For all those oy you who are unable to attend in person I'll try to get you one new story per day in the forums. I will personally attend the show on the second week-end.

Nikon D300s announced

Nikon D300sNikon just announced the D300s. Compared to the D300, the D300s offers a new EXPEED processor, 720p HD video recording, a faster 7 fps continuous shooting and dual CF and SD card slots, Quiet drive mode and a dedicated Live View and Info button. The camera's recommended selling price is $1799 in US and €1799 in Europe. In addition for this release were announced the Nikon D3000 and 2 new lenses, the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200MM 
F/3.5-5.6G ED VR II and Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200MM F/2.8G ED VR II.

Disney Nature announces movie Oceans

Disneynature OceansDisneynature announced the documentary Oceans to be released for Earth Day (April 22) 2010. Oceans is directed by renowned French film director Jacques Perrin, from Galatee Film Productions, creator of After the Monkey Folk, Microcosmos, Himalaya, and Winged Migrations. It has been in production since 2006 and was announced to be released in 2008 then later in 2009. Now, Disney seems to have taken over distribution and a trailer is now available

Disneynature, located in Paris, France is a specialist film unit that has been set up following oscar-winning success March of the Penguins. Its aim is to work with leading filmmakers to produce one cutting-edge theatrical release every year celebrating wildlife and environment.

Oceans still underwater photographers include Pascal Kobeh, Richard Herrmann and Roberto Rinaldi. Canon Professional website features a detailed interview of Pascal Kobeh about his work on Oceans.

Celebrate the Sea Festival Manila

Digidiver chronicler Cris deLeon-Hinlo attended the 'Celebrate the Sea' Festival held at the Manila's Ocean Park on June 12-14, 2009, The event brought together some of the world’s best known underwater image makers and scientists for lectures, forums and social events to raise the 'public’s interest' , to promote the beauty of the sea and to highlight the preservation of remaining resources through the art of underwater imagery.

Forums this year focused on a wide range of topics such as marine conservation, animals in captivity, global ocean changes, impact of tourism on the marine environment, and ways to save sharks from their present plight.
