Long time digidiver contributing member Doug Anderson (doug.deep) is back from his Bali trip with some fantastic shots. Doug was the grand prize winner of the Digidiver Theme of the Week contest and swept away a stay at the Mimpi Resorts in Tulamben and Menjangan.
Doug took the opportunity to dive well-known dive sites in Tulamben such as the USS Liberty with some muck diving in Seraya and wall diving in Ahmed while in Menjangan he enjoyed some wall diving at Menjangan Island and the incontournable visit to the top muck dive site that is 'Secret Bay'. He shares with us some of his amazing shots.

Having had the good fortune to win last year's Digidiver Theme of the Week competition, I recently returned from a wonderful trip to Bali. The diving was fantastic, and the accommodation and hospitality at the Mimpi Tulamben and Mimpi Menjangan Resorts was first class. Both resorts have dive centers attached, and specialise in catering to divers, and diving photographers.

After a few days at Tulamben I was very reluctant to leave, but Menjangan Island and Secret Bay were no disappointment. The diving at Menjangan is predominantly wall-diving with great visibility, great coral, interesting terrain and plenty of life. My favourite site was named "Eel Garden", where the garden eels inhabit vast expanses of undulating white sands that seem to stretch to infinity. A truly beautiful site, one of best dives I've ever done.
Secret Bay is about half an hour's drive from the Mimpi Menjangan Resort, and is a great macro site with frogfish, squid and octopus, nudibranchs in abundance, seahorses, cockatoo waspfish, several species of shrimp and more.
I can unreservedly recommend The Mimpi Resorts at Tulamben and Menjangan to anyone looking for a relaxing and rewarding dive holiday. Food and accomodation are excellent at both places, the dive staff are professional and helpful, and the diving itself is excellent and great for photography.
